I think paint makes the biggest bang for your buck! Adding window shutters, a different outdoor light and a new or improved mailbox are all easy cosmetic fixes. So are window boxes and flowers! For more money, I would update the windows. That kind of investment should come back to you in future value!
Make sure plumbing, electricity and heati ng are up to par. Do you want to renovate a kitchen or bathroom? How handy are you (or people you know)? I had insulation pumped into my walls so it would not damage walls. remove or add carpets. Finish wood floors.
