A Habitat for Humanity Kitchen & Dining Room Makeover

I was recently part of a group of local bloggers who gathered together for a Bloggers Heart Habitat project put together by Charlotte of the blog Ciburbanity. We all joined forces to decorate a newly built Habitat for Humanity house for the sweet family that’s moving in! Annie of the blog Most Lovely Things and I were in charge of decorating the kitchen and dining room with money generously donated by Hometalk and products donated by Wayfair, Connecticut Lighting Centers, Anchor Hocking, and Farmhouse Wares.
We had months to plan it but only a single day to transform our room in time for the big reveal to the new family. While I completely forgot to take a true “before” pic at the start of the day, this one was snapped just a few hours into the day when we were still in mess mode:
Many hours later, here’s how our dining area looked for the big reveal! We bought this great dining table and most of the tabletop items from IKEA where our money went a long way!
And another view from the opposite direction looking into the newly madeover family room (done by a different group of bloggers!):
One of my favorite things we added to the space was a set of four nesting herb crates that we filled with flowers and other tabletop items:
The kitchen appliances hadn't yet been put in, but that didn't keep us from adding a few finishing touches to the kitchen! We took stylish glass jars and added printable script labels to hold flour, sugar, and brown sugar:
And we created a simple coffee station for this coffee-loving family!
You can check out more pics of our finished space and a full source list for the items we used in this kitchen and dining room makeover HERE.

And if you love "before" and "after" kitchen makeovers, you'll also love seeing the kitchen renovation we did in our old house in just four days! You'll find that post HERE.

Thanks for taking a peek at both of these fun projects!!
