Cheri: I noticed your lovely backsplash first! ...why not paint the cabinets in one of the neutral shades of that backsplash. Heck! Why not go "crazy" and paint the lower cabinets a darker neutral and the upper with a lighter one? ...this would look very "designer-ish!"

Contact paper, for your counter tops would be inexpensive and really easy.

I found a video that I think might help...

I watched a YouTube video today of a woman who used a special product to paint her countertops with which incorporated sandy, gold flecks into it with a special roller. Looked very nice!

    Rustoleum counter top transformation.

My husband works for the company and we did our tops in black with gold flakes. It looks great.

  • Giani countertop paint kit! Just did mine in the Diamond and love the results!

We used Rustoleum counter top transformation. It comes in white too. We used the black. It was so easy to use and took a weekend to do between drying time. We loved how it turned out too.Our countertops were white when we started now black and we painted the cabinets a green color afterwards too

For your counter tops, go to Home Depot on the computer and enter d-c-fix self-adhesive vinyl film in the search space. It is for counter tops and decor. It comes in 17" x 59" and 26" x 78". There are 75-100 choices and I got the Granite Beige and we love it. Nothing shows on it and you have to feel it to see if something missed being wiped up. I did get those glass counter protectors for each side of the stove and sink, getting larger ones for the sink area. You will have to be alone in the house when you do it so you can have whole brain to work with. Home Depot has the best price I could find and free shipping to our local store. You may find one you like for the fronts of your cabinets also. Good luck w/ whatever you decide to do. You will love it. My husband was shocked, in a good way, when he saw it the first time, with a big grin on his face.

We update our rental property by painting the cabinets and added Feather Finish to the counters. Here is a peek: http://alifeunfolding.com/blog-1/2018/8/25/updating-the-kitchen-in-our-rental-property

    Hello Cheri,

Paint the bottom cabinets Burn Orange colour. Change handles to Cast Iron to pick up the Cooker and /fridge. Have fun. A strong colour would look good.
