The edges of our granite counter tops are very rough. Is there any way to smooth them out as they are ruining my jerseys by wearing holes through them. Thank you.
Any suggestions for installing laminate counter tops?
I bought two 8 ft slabs of post form counter tops from Lowes. They would not do the installation without measuring for stove top/sink which I did not have at the time... See more
I've seen many on Hometalk who have done this. Try the search bar at the top left and search epoxy. Do look for food-safe epoxy though and note it could wear over time.
Easiest way is get an epoxy kit, like Giani or Rustoleum.
There are lots of epoxy ideas for counters here on Hometalk; try the search bar at the top left. Be sure to get epoxy that is food safe and know that eventually it'll wear and dull in a hardwearing environment such as a kitchen.
I've used one of the Rustoleum kits and it had excellent instructions and outcome. Stay safe!

I used ENVIROTEX resin. Totally ok around food and they use it on bar tops. I painted my kitchen countertops with stone spray and made it look granite like. Then poured envirotex resin on top of it. You might want to make a frame for the sides of the countertop because the edges are tricky to get a smooth finish. But whatever you do, cover the lower cabinets with plastic because when it gets poured, it will drip down off the sides. Follow the directions on the box and you will love the result. Use a blow torch to get all the bubbles out. Google tutorials. It's a great product and our countertops have held up for years now. People ask me if it was real granite. I think we used 5-6 boxes of envirotex for our countertops. Totalling around $300. hope this helps. It definitely has extended our old pink laminate countertops for another 5-6 years before we can afford real granite or quartz. Good Luck!
