You can buy sheets of plastic laminate (Formica, Wilsonart & more) and re-laminate them, using contact cement & a router.
It will last decades longer than the original finish, if it is actually “foil” faced or Melamine, which is paper thin.
This forum is big on painting plastic and if you do that, buy a plastic laminate painting kit and follow the directions to a T.
This deals with a table but the same idea would work for a door. My dad covered ugly laminate cabinets with wood veneers and that has lasted for over 10 years. And it looks so much better.

Hi! You could get the cabinets defaced to go with your nice counters. Or, more budget friendly method is explained here:

HUMM this has posted to the wrong question. Now I understand how anwers/comments often do not relate to the posting
I usually attack from the top using a hammer handle. POWER OFF!!
I put the wooden handle down wedging on the bottom and jimmy it back an forth, remove and check for anything that may have been released from the "teeth" .
Then try again, it may take a couple tries but usually it does release and begin to run.
than put ice cubes down to clean the teeth.
Good Luck
