Can you share a picture of the closet? Or the dimensions? Without seeing or knowing the size or layout of everything it's hard to give ideas. -

If the closet is large enough put shelves on back and both side walls with access in center to step in and store larger items in floor. Use premade sleves and hangers and always measure twice. -

Since I don't know the size of the closet, I would look into something like these. The height is adjustable so you can change it as needed for different items.
