How to modify existing granite countertop?

I have a dark granite counter top in the kitchen. Since I am updating the cabinet front to shaker style I would also like to eliminate the "rounded" edge of the countertop. Is there a way to do it w/o physically having to remove the granite?

I would call a granite countertop installer. They would have the proper tools to recut the edges in place.

Unless you can afford it, learn to ignore it. Most people pay more attention to the cabinets, don't worry about it.
