The latest and easiest way is to buy vinyl tile decals that peel and stick on top of tiles. You can buy them in many different patterns and colors to dress your kitchen up or down. They are very affordable, too.

Go to your paint store (My go-to place has always been Home Depot). Ask for a paint that's made for ceramic. Here is a video that may help.

Rustoleum makes a specific paint/product just for tubs and tiles in bathrooms, I hear it works great!
