You can paint it with chalk paint! Water it down a bit and then make sure to apply a good wax sealer.Helpful Reply -

First vacuum with an attachment to get off all dust.Then consider TSP. Scrub with a brush with TSP. This is very strong. Wear gloves and safety goggles. Available at paint stores. It is a powder you xix in water. Used to prep surfaces for painting.Helpful Reply -

How can I brighten up and pop the stone on this fireplace

Built in 1960 8 x 10 double sided walk around. The stones maybe slate in Gray and reddish color. The glass door have a brass rim.
