I think it’s gorgeous. And I don’t even like pink.

I’d do only the pink, but I’d experiment in an unobtrusive spot first. Black? If it suits your decor
I second Jcraw's opinion. How about changing up your decor instead? Use oil bronze spray paint on the fireplace screen, add a mantle and add a chunky frame to your picture above. I would never change this wall.
I wouldn't touch the stone, it's gorgeous! Instead, I would rethink everything around it. First, I would replace the fireplace surround with something simple. Then remove everything from the mantle and replace it with something more modern. I would look at design magazines and on-line decorator sites for ideas. Better yet, I would go to furniture and design stores and see what displays with fireplaces attract your attention and take photos for inspiration. Keep it simple, keep it fresh. BUT DON'T MESS WITH THE STONE LOL!
I would paint out the pink stones kinda like this.....https://lifeonvirginiastreet.com/2013/09/gray-washed-fireplace-stone-using-annie-html/
I cannot tell the height but it looks like all the accessories are too small and therefore out of scale to the fireplace wall. The frame needs to be painted black of dark grey to contrast with the rock. Pickup a color from the stone/grout and the art for that. Raise the art piece to cover the wire that it is hanging from also. Enjoy that beautiful fireplace!
Paint the fireplace surround, buy updated artwork (black metal would look great in this space), leave the stone - it is great and should be embraced.
Hello, hope this helps you out. You can paint it! You can use any color you love, white grey, red, brown etc.

I would leave it as is, but add a solid looking Mantal Shelf held up with wooden brackets. Lift the painting up higher.
I wouldn't do anything with the stone but would change the frame of the firebox to either black or a very dark color and remove all the small items surrounding it including the ocean-themed art which is likely causing the pink in the stone to stand out more. I'd search for a modern light colored LARGE piece of art for the stone wall or maybe even two or three that would take up a good portion of the wall. If you truly hate the wall, rather than painting it, I'd consider covering it with some paneling that could later be removed....perhaps bead board, if that is more your style of decor.
