If its a temporary fix, try morning glories - beautiful flowers for the summer.
Flowers would be really pretty.
Hi Catherine, I don't know if you'll like my idea, but I have friends who spray painted their metal fencing gloss black. I was dubious when they began but when they were finished it was unique and very striking. It was like adding a picture frame to a landscape painting. Very classy looking! They used a very large piece of cardboard to block the paint from going everywhere and painted section by section, one side and then the other. Hope this inspires you.
Ivy will grow quickly and is pretty. You can do fake as well. They even sell it in panels with faux ivy attached.
yes morning glories are the best. do it every year.
You can cover it with trellis too so the chainlink fence isn't showing as much.
