you can't cover needs air flow & access in case of a problem, can't plant something with invasive roots that will damage tank/pipes.....so how about daylilies(hardy,drought or moisture tolerant) for color,they come in many sizes& colors & are virtually maintenance free, easily dug up if you need to get to septic system;you could add a small wooden/wrought iron bench(easily moved) and sheperds hook with a couple Hummingbird feeders
Flowers or small shrubs near the pipe should be OK to block the view.

I agree. A faux wooden well would look nice plus it wouldn't be covered then.
