With or without reel and handle. Wood or something else, but not something I would need to weld. Haven't attempted that yet . Thank you very much. steven.milburn@comcast.net

You don't mention how much hose. One 50' hose is a whole lot easier to store than five. If you want a reel you should get one because building it would be uneconomical. If you don't want a reel those plastic deck boxes make great storage and a place to sit.

Buy a large flower pot -- either plastic or composite. Drill a hole in the side large enough for the hose to pass through. You can paint the pot with spray paint that adheres to plastic. Buy a ready made table top at one of the big box stores and paint with oil paint or exterior latex on both sides making sure that sides are completely covered. Place hose inside. You can add a plant to the top or leave as a seat in the garden.

So many choices out there, you get a good deal if you look around. We bought one from Home depot with a reel. You have to pick one that is easy for you to use.

Drill out the coupling of a used beer keg. Make sure it’s depressurized.

Cut two holes on opposite sides, one low and one high; put a grommet on each hole to feed your hose through. The low hole is for the end that attaches to your hose bib.

Coil your hose down in the keg and feed the business end through the upper hole.

You could put a large cork in the coupling, or a wooden top on it with a pump handle for decoration.
