What is your roof made of? tile? shingle? Why would you want artificial grass on roof in the first place? It will hold moisture and tend to turn to mold or algae and never let the shingle, tile or underlayment dry out eventually causing roof damage. VERY expensive to replace a roof for the sake of artificial grass.
depends what your base is. I had a rubber flat roof. water seeped in under the rubber. rotted out the whole roof. had to have the roof and ceiling torn off an redone.
Not if there is proper drainage in place. If there is not enough sun on the area, it might get moldy. If the area gets enough sun, a perfect solution for a rooftop space. Enjoy!
Could be if you do not get seams sealed well or edging where water can accumulate and cause mildew, mold, roofing &/or balcony material to begin to rot. info. https://syntheticgrasswarehouse.com/roof-top-balcony-installations/ more info. to consider pros cons https://www.installitdirect.com/learn/artificial-grass-rooftop-deck/
Thank you everyone for the prompt answer. I have a tiled terrace, but it looks very boring. I thought adding an element of green would make it look better. Please suggest alternate ways to doing up my terrace garden
Hi Sakshi, thanks for the pic and more information. You could use a stencil and some colorful paint on some of your tiles to create different areas in your garden. Also some large potted plants and furniture would make the area useful as well as dynamic.
You have to Lay a normal roof and then stick it down on top with special adhesive. It should not cause seepage, but It does have tiny holes in it for drainage so can't be put directly on to non waterproof substraight!
