My driveway is uphill and gravel; is there any way to keep the gravel from washing down into the road?

I know there is some concrete out there that you just have to put water on. Perhaps you can incorporate that into your gravel.

Another thing you can do... in some areas of the country, you can buy a white gravel called "chat". It's dumped out like gravel, you spread it around like gravel, then you pack it down. It is kind of like a porous concrete. Rain will seep thru, but it stays where ever you put it. Once you pack it down, it's going to stay there until you chisel it out! LOL. Very pretty tho, very white.

  • Install a border of some sort. I have used bricks on mine, but there are lots of options. Choose something already existing in your hardscape for continuity.

I just use a shovel and a rake once in awhile starting at the bottom and work up the slope.

A border is a really good idea!

Thanks everyone, now I've got a decision to make!
