In our zone, mums, asters and shasta daisies are blooming. You can plant almost any perennial in Fall though for spring blooms.

Hi Two: I have Marigolds, Joe Pye Weed (not a weed but a flower) and Asters in my yard late into the fall. I also have a bunch of Chrysanthemums. They are just starting to bloom here, in Michigan! They hang on way into the fall and sometimes into the winter! I'm the only one on the street with flowers growing:) And, in the spring, I have hellaborus that pop up out of the snow. But, be aware, that they are poisonous, and potentially fatal, to cats and dogs. But, my cats don't seem do look at them at all. Good luck.

Go to your local nursery and see what they are selling now. That's the best way to see what will grow and thrive this time of year.
