Can tomato hornworms climb up plastic ?

Im raising one in a fairly big plastic jar could it have climbed out, there was no lid on the jar considering it was about the size of one that might contain cheesepuffs

An interesting creature, but why would you raise one? Very destructive to tomato fruits.
They have amazing traction so I'm guessing yes they can climb out.
Update its still in there it just buried itself and is being metamorphosis
Yes, they certainly can. I've had them climb on plastic pots.
