Hi Catladycrazy, I've been told over the years that it works, but not sure. I've also been told that used kitty litter works too. Here's a link of some products to keep them away. I've used Snake repellent, and it seems to work!

Peppermint oil - spray it around any area where you do not want them.

Moth balls do not seem to repel snakes at all. There are other products on the market that may help. The biggest help is a dog in the yard! Snakes do not like to crawl where dogs have gone potty. If you use a pesticide, be sure to read all the labels carefully before using.
