Jiffy mix. It is a package of corn muffin/bread mix. It is non toxic to humans and pets but the corn meal is deadly to ants. There is some sugar in the mix and that will attract the ants, they will carry it back to the colony. Ants cannot digest corn meal so it kills them.
It’s considered as a spice. You can use it as a border to keep them away. They do not need to be too close to each other. Ants do not like the smell I found out.

Boric acid mixed with sugar place in a jar cap or bottle cap where you see ants
I sprinkle cornmeal and powdered sugar around the area I notice them coming from and they take it back to the nest. Cornmeal is bad for their bellies.
