How can I get rid of bugs in the flour

It seems every summer I find bugs in the flour and pasta in my cupboard.

I keep my flour in a Ziploc bag in the fridge. Absolutely no moisture gets in, and it lasts. Put all bagged and boxed pantry items in plastic totes with lids, or transfer to glass/ plastic canisters with tight-fitting lids. I had this problem in Florida and had to 86 a bunch of food. Switching to this storage method solved the problem, plus the food stayed fresher!

What kind of containers are you storing your baking ingredients, and other pantry foods in? Agree with everyone who has said that these bulk foods should be stored only in plastic or glass containers that are truly air tight and moisture proof.

You many need to spend more initially on getting quality brand containers that do not warp and whose lids retain their seal in the dishwasher.

Do not store these kinds of foods in containers that have held other foods, and wash thoroughly before refilling each time, especially grain, nut, or seed based foods. Do not store combined bags of flour, from one bag to the next. Store in separate containers.
