Boric acid. Sprinkle it where the ants are making a trail. Ants follow the same trail(s) the scouts have left. Having had dogs or cats try to eat it, but just to be safe, use sparingly.

Are you trying to stop them from entering your house. Mix equal amounts of sugar and borax and place it where they are coming in. The sugar will attract them and the borax will kill them.

Mix borax and sugar, they say equal amounts but I always add a bit more sugar. Add small amounts of water until you have a syrup. Place mixture in shallow containers (think bottle lids/caps) & place where you see them walking. I have also poured this directly onto my counter, just be sure to wash thoroughly. This is always quick working for me, little black ants are completely gone within the hour.

    Hi Rosettamccoy22,

I used the borax & powdered sugar method successfully in my home. I also like the idea of the baking soda & powdered sugar because it's a safer for pets. The idea is for the first ants to find it and either take it back to the nest or leave a trail for the other ants to follow. Don't kill them after they've found it. You want them to go back to the nest. If you can find the nest(s) put it close by so they find it sooner. Wishing you the best.

Try the raid ant baits that are white and square. Not the liquid ones. I tried two other brands with liquid. The raid one was the only one I saw the ants go to to bring the bait back to the nest. In a couple of weeks you should not see anymore.

Put baby powder and cinnamon around. They do not like them.
