After buying a neglected house overgrown with weeds we found hand digging, stirup hoe and claw rake and throwing them on a tarp for disposal Worked best.We planted plants close to choke out new weeds. Then munched Spring and Fall.Helpful Reply -

Hi Cj, You can put newspaper or cardboard on those weeds and smother them. You could also pour undiluted vinegar on them. And, last but not least is salt. Salt will kill anything it comes in contact with. Be careful when using salt. It will also kill grass, flowers, bushes, trees, etc. I hope this helps you.Helpful Reply -

Both vinegar and salt will kill anything that it touches, but it also alters the health of the soil and will take amending to bring it back. The salt also leeches into the groundwater and takes years to get out and is changing the salinity of all bodies of fresh water to the detriment of all the flora and fauna that depend on it to survive. It is even starting to affect drinking water, as desalination is not a part of water treatment plants.Helpful Reply -
