I have a healthy bed of myrtle, but struggle to keep it grass and weed free

Smother it with newspaper, cardboard or landscape fabric. Then place mulch or rocks on top. You will still get weeds, but they will be shallow rooted and easy to pluck.

  No do not cover the myrtle, just the weeds. Place the newspaper, cardboard or landscape fabric around your existing plants that you want to keep. Then spread the mulch or rocks on top. Leave "breathing room" around each existing plant.

you can only smother it out.Using boiling waterer any other solutions will kill the surrounding plants
