What can I use to kill grass & weeds in myrtle without killing it?

I have a healthy bed of myrtle, but struggle to keep it grass and weed free

Smother it with newspaper, cardboard or landscape fabric. Then place mulch or rocks on top. You will still get weeds, but they will be shallow rooted and easy to pluck.- See 1 previous

you can only smother it out.Using boiling waterer any other solutions will kill the surrounding plants -
