Gnats can ride in on you and your pets, but especially in egg form on plants and fruit (bananas are the worst!). They're attracted to gas, especially from fruit, and yes, from your breath (just as mosquitoes are), as well as moist areas. Place a ramekin or other small bowl near the area with one tablespoon of water and a few tablespoons of apple or balsamic vinegar in it and just a drop or two of Dawn dishwashing liquid - it breaks the surface tension of the water/vinegar - don't stir. After you've drowned a dozen or so, throw out it out and replace it with a fresh batch. I've used this effectively for years. It's impossible to completely get rid of them but you'll cut their numbers.Helpful Reply -
