I hate the wasp an bumble bees it attracts. Toiled over pulling up by roots and yet here it is growing back.

Try pulling the sedum out by hand slowing so all the roots will be removed. If you leave any bits behind it will come back.
Pour pure vinegar over them and they should die.
Remove all you can and then spray the area with a vinegar and salt solution many use as a weed killer. 1 gallon vinegar, 1 cup of table salt applied to the cleaned area will decrease the likelihood of regrowth.
