Ah, the age-old problem of getting rid of squirrels. The truth is if they really want something, nothing will stop them. I ended up just putting out a feeder of black oil sunflower seeds for them. They love the seeds and pretty much leave everything else alone. -

dorlis, I put an actual bar of strong smelling soap(Irish Spring, Caress, etc), in The pot with our plants or in between our plants. We live in a very remote spot in the middle of a forest and just about any flowers i planted would get eaten. Not since I’ve done that though. I sure don’t want to hurt them or any other animals. I won’t use moth balls unless the skunks get too close to our home in searching out a den spot. I want To use the least amount of chemicals as possible and not hurt the animals or plants and this has worked for us for years. -

My mom once had them get into the "attic" of her mud room and they made a mess of it quickly. We used a radio tuned to a rock station 24/7 eventually the left. -

You could adopt a small dog like a "rat terrier" The squirrels definitely will keep their distance! -

Not sure if this will help but I had a terrible time with them until we had a falcon show up at my feeder. Took a bird with him. Since then haven't seen them.
