How do I get rid of the tiny ants that have infested my home?

I have very small, black ants that seem to like my kitchen stove & counters. I used lemon oil, but that didn't do much. If I knew what they ate, it might help me come up with an eradication answer. Please help, I want my kitchen back!

Hi Carol, I had a bad problem and I use combat ant killing bait strips. I even set a couple outside where I would see any and put them in the house. It only took 2 days and haven''t seen any since.

Diatomaceous earth spread around will kill them but they do have to come in contact with the product. Food grade is safe for contact with humans and pets.
