squirrels have been gnawing in the wood frames around the doors. the Material might be laminate. We’ve tried spraying some chemicals designed for deterring the chewing, but it hasn’t helped. Any suggestions?

Ace sells a spray called Coyote Urine. Stinks, but keeps them away. I have also used moth balls, and that works well too.

Coyote urine- that's one I've never heard of. Definitely going to mark it down for the future!

You are not alone we live in the country in the woods . I think we are a buffet for the little critters.I had problems with them eating the wood frame around the garage doors tried several things with no luck .I was not going to give up one day at Menards i came across rolls of aluminum in white, they have other colors I needed white so no painting needed .I cut the aluminum to fit about 12" height then took liquid nails put on aluminum then put on garage door frame .I had one stubborn critter who still tried to chew and put marks on aluminum but that was it still up and no more critters eatting the wood and it has been over 3 years .Good luck
