Deer Be Gone sold at Lowes Home Improvement store. Stinks to high heaven, so wear old throw away clothes and gloves. Probably will need to reapply if you get a lot of rain. This product totally worked for us and our day lillies. I recommend it.
Hello June. Our property includes woods. And the DuPage River runs on the other side of the woods. So we see a lot of wildlife. I have tried everything under the sun to keep animals out of my gardens. The only thing that has worked for me is shredded Irish Spring soap. Every Spring I buy the big package of Irish Spring bars of soap. I shred all the bars at one time. I store it all in a five-gallon bucket with lid and put it in my shed. After I put plants in the beds, I spread the soap around each bed. I still see a few bites out of my tomatoes, but nothing like I used to. I recommend the soap with very good results. Good luck June.
I’ve had luck with spreading dog hair around plants.
Hi June. It's Cindy again. No, the soap will not harm grass or plants. I spread out even more of the soap after it rains. That's why I shred it all at one time so that I have it ready when I need it. Good luck with your roses.
I read about the Irish Spring Soap and gave it a try last year. It works! I was always having issues with deer, rabbits and squirrels and I was very presently surprised that the shredded soap worked so well. I would recommend that to anyone. Good luck!
