Something is drawing the woodpeckers. I'd look for a sealing product that would keep the bugs out. You might want to research what to use to prevent the bugs. A fake owl perched on the window frame might help scare them away. My grandfather used a huge artificial snake in his veggie garden. He swore it worked and since he taught horticulture I believe it.

My experiences haven’t been good with fake owls, might work a short time then the woodpecker figure out they don’t move! I’ve heard of people using old CD disks hung on strings that blow around and reflect sunlight to scare birds off, but I don’t know if it really works or not? Only thing I’ve done is put a thin piece of metal nailed over the areas where their picking holes in my siding! They seem to give up after a while and move on to another area and just hope it’s not your house!

A friend had Flickers (large woodpeckers) that were constantly damaging their siding. A birder recommended mounting an actual Flicker bird house over a well damaged and repaired siding area. The birds come back every year to use the bird house, and due to territorial habits keep all the other woodpeckers away! No more damage.
