How do you get rid of fruit flies from the soul of your plant?
There are fruit flies all over my plants.
Put a fan out there, they do not like any breeze and will move on. I have two, works great!
Place a small bowl (old tuna cans work well) of sugar water near the edges and corners of your patio. The flies will be drawn to the sweet water and stay off your patio. Be sure to clean and refill the containers daily.
I recently read a post where someone used a 2-liter bottle of pop (regular, not diet), to attract flies. Just leave a little pop in the bottle and place it on your patio. The flies will be drawn to the sugary pop and cannot find their way back out. I read that campers use this method.
As odd as it sounds, people around Texas staple half full ziplock baggies of water to the upper parts of their outdoor seating area (above doors, beams, etc.) I don't know how it works, but it does! Must be magic. :)
Thanks so much--will give it a try!
