Cut everything back. No wild growing bushes. Remove anything which water can stand in - standing water is what they breed in.
You can purchase special "dunks", to place in birdbaths, ponds, areas of standing water such as large planter bases, etc.
Place an oscillating fan on your patio when outdoors. Mosquitoes detest moving air.
Place an aerator in ponds to create a continuous spray effect, if you lack a waterfall.

My best spent money last summer was a Dynatrap. The have a light that attracts flying bugs ' especially mosquitos - then a fan that sucks them down into the base which they cannot get out of. They are 2 different sizes. I got the smaller one and it was I think $70 range
But they work wonderfully near a patio
.comes with extra bulbs. I got mine at QVC.saw them just the other night. Great investment.
Remove the source - overgrowth of bushes. Remove or dump any standing water - like flower pot saucers, water accumulated on tarps. Then they cannot breed.
