How do I make a squirrel baffle that goes around a tree trunk?

l want to keep squirrels from climbing up a tree...from which they jump onto bird feeders that hang from several branches. Thank you,

Wrap sheet metal around the trunk of the tree. Needs to be a collar of at least 2' wide and needs to be placed far up off the ground as squirrels can easily jump a good 6' if they want to.
Think of the fancy beach resorts, they have the collars on palm trees so rats and mice don't climb up the tree and fall on guests.
Many many many years ago I used to live in infamous Hollywood, CA. The street I lived on was lined with palm trees. In high winds, and we do get them occasionally, you could watch the rats and mice fall out of the palm trees. So sad. While I don't want them in my house, I still felt bad for them as they didn't always make it.

Driscoll the tree...rub a thick layer of lard around the trunk of the he tree.

Maybe make cone shaped roofs for bird feeders with sheet metal, leave over hang, n rub petroleum jelly on it every so often!?
You need to douse your bird seed in a hot pepper spray solution which won't bother the birds. Spray ground areas with a garlic and cayenne pepper spray, as well.
