How to remove bramble bushes from my back yard?
Bramble bushes are taking over my yard. They’re strong with deep roots. What can I use to permanently remove them ? I also have thorny bushes — I have no idea what kind of weed they are.

For that kind of problem I use Round up. I cut them down to a couple of inches and put that in the burn pit (we can't put any plant life in our garbage). I use the Roundup that has a spray or foam option, I put the foam on the fresh cut and it gets the chemical down to the roots quicker. You may have to make a fresh cut and reapply more than once since they are so tenacious. The first thing you have to do when you find them is get rid of any flowers that start on the weeds so that they don't go to seed and start more plants elsewhere, even if you don't have the time at the moment to treat the weeds, get rid of the future plants.
Thanks so much, Nancy!

I cut brush down to the ground, then apply a brush killer to the stump with a paint brush. This way very little of the chemical is used, but it is effective.
