I bought a chemical Killer , brand made by SPECTRADIDE.
name KUDZU POISON IVY /OAK killer. Available at home Depot and Garden stores. The internet has good remedies and tips to get rid of it.
It grows in dark no traffic areas.
Pore boiling water on the ground were the roots are. It worked for me.
Brush killer by Bayer. Get it at Lowes
Try Roundup, but be careful where you have other plants. I know it is frowned upon but it works wonders on any weeds we have had.
Break out the big guns and use agricultural vinegar 10% - 20% acidity. Drown the area in the vinegar. May take more than one application, but vinegar is cheap and environmentally safe.
Goats will eat the ivy. Really!

Hi Sonja, hope this helps. Young seedlings can be removed by simply (and carefully) digging them out with a shovel or pick. Be sure to get the entire plant — roots and all. It's easiest to remove poison oak from loose soil or in spring or fall when the soil is moist. Dispose of your uprooted poison oak plants offsite
