You'll have to dig them up as best you can and then mix vinegar and water 50/50, add 1/4 cup of salt and spray the remaining offending plant. Be careful not to get this mixture on anything that you don't want to kill...

I used Roundup on Lupiens that had taken over my garden before i could stop them. By the Way, it has taken me 3 years and they still come up. I try to get to them in the early spring before t hey have a chance to blossom.

If they are invading from the periphery, trace them back outside of the bed and spray with long acting ground cover weed killer.

  • Vinegar is my go to, but will kill everything. Boiling water works, so does epsom salt followed by boiling water.

Dig and pull them up. Try to trace the root born ones to the mother plants that in general are outside the garden. If you can get all the roots of the babies it will be easy to control if you eliminate them to about six inches outside the garden, then you can catch them as they come into the garden and they are easier to control. Otherwise just dig and get all the roots and try to catch them before they get big. If you can't always get to weeding, make sure to get rid of the flowers before they go to seed and cause even more problems.
