Yes all that warm humid weather creates weeds and havoc. I do not want lawn anymore. Too much work. Has anyone ever tried "crush crete" under a rock design and does it really work? Thanks!

While I have never used that product myself, hopefully others can help you out. It will make the temperature around your home warmer. Have you looked into xeriscaping?

Go to your local rock yard and talk to them. I'd also visit your local nursery to get more information for your area and project.
Hi Stephanie. I'm a bit south of you and have found weed barrier to be a waste of time and money. Florida has the most aggressive weeds! However, for a rock garden, it will keep the stones from being swallowed up by the sand. I've only used the crushed concrete as an underlay for stone in my walkways into the garden because living down here, you actually want the rain to permeate to avoid flooding. The weeds still come up in the walkways occasionally, so I just spray them with vinegar. If you do remove your lawn, be sure to grade the areas away from your house because water will always find the lowest point. 😊
