If you were to plant different types of plants that repel bugs that would make a world of difference. I planted lemon grass on both sides of my porch and hardly get bit. (And I live in Florida) Rosemary is very ornamental and does the job as well. Theres even more to choose from depending on where you live !
Plant some lemon grass or Citronella, I have a few of each in pots around by deck, they work.
Great idea. I live in Florida on a lake and "no see ems" drive us crazy even in a screened lanai. Perhaps I should replace some of my ornamentals with Lemon Grass or Citronella. I've never seen a Citronella plant; is it colorful?
Citronella is a green leafy plant.
A friend of mine ties dryer sheets to her picnic umbrella and in inconspicuous spots around her outdoor entertaining area. Seems to work for her.
