Do you know what animals?Deer,squirrels????
You can put up a chicken wire fence to protect your plants. That will keep most pests away.
Try pieces of peppermint candy around the area.. or srinkle Cayenne pepper around...works for dogs
You need to identify what animals are the culprits. Can't stop them without knowing what you're after! Deer are usually nocturnal so you would need a 7' high fence to keep them out. I have had luck with deer using "preditor guard" solar powered devices I bought on Amazon- $21.95, but they only work on nocturnal animals such as deer, raccoons etc, Woodchucks, (also called groundhogs) are the absolute worst, they feed during the day, are very wary and hard to catch in a live trap, will dig under fencing then into your garden, climb up and over into the garden and virtually eat everything. Some success with a bullet, cantaloupe or cabbage leaves smothered with peanut butter but that also catches grey Squirrels! Those spray on products are a waste of $ because rain washes it off or sunlight breaks it down over time.
I have been battling animals for the last 10 years, when before I had no issues. People around here used to have REAL DOGS that just roamed around loose which worked great but now all my neighbors have those shitzoos that are smaller than a cat and always leashed.
Dogs are not usually a problem for gardens, the are not vegetarians.
