What is the best way to keep birds from nesting in my carport?

Knock down the nests and smear the area with vaseline. You may need to hang netting to the roof if they're all over the carport. -

The spiky deterrant always seems to work at commercial buildings and retail outlets.I hadcrafted a replica for my mailbox post as it was a public toilet and it worked....cleanest mail post in the neighborhood!Good luck! Roofers use rubber snakes to keep birds from pecking at new installations. Some people swear by models of great owls (available at Walmart.com).
