I got one of those motion activated sprayers and it ran off everyone of the feral cats that were getting the birds at my bird feeders; it also seems to be doing a good job at keep the raccoons from raiding the feeder. This is the one I got; I originally got a different less expensive brand; and it did not work. This one works:
