DG path - Should I add brick pavers or stepping stones?

Hello - I just removed the grass and turned my front yard into a drought tolerant landscape. The DG path looks kind of plain, and I'm wondering if I should lay stepping stones or brick pavers along the path. All input will be welcomed. ~Thank you,

Personally I would put the biggest stepping stones you can find to add some interest.Adding more brick in my opinion would not add interest.

Once you decide I would put some drought tolerate plants along the path to give you some color.

@Janet. Landscaping was just completed last week. There are a number of plants in the rock area and up against the house. They just need to grow in or fill in....

@Taf Hi I meant along the actual pathway in pots just for color. I am a lansdcape, plant freak . Sorry.
  • I think you should look to using real stone. With the rock you have that would look more natural. Good luck with your decision

I saw a post on Hometalk where the gal made concrete stones, rectangle, added some cut glass for color. Looked nice. I might try that. Concrete color would match the rocks.

Matters if your ground is really level or not and the style of landscaping

Im not in a drought area so I love the look of green plants, grass etc...the rock area looks good but I would opt for some sort of accent plants out near the road, cactus, palm, there are lots of choices. As for the pavers or stepping stones I found some pavers that are square, and rectangular that you could mix n match into a walkway and fill in with small stones in between to add color /contrast to your rock area ,,,, just a thought

I saw the coolest "look" using 24x24 stones placed on diagonal with low growing ground cover where the grout lines would be. I will look for it now to find and share with you.

For some reason I couldn't copy and paste but just go to Pinterest. Search for Patio paver bricks with ground cover and it should come up. Good luck

Your path is so nice and straight, perhaps brick to tie in the brick on your home.

Stepping stones would look really nice or some slate pieces to give it color/texture.
