The awnings should be screwed on underneath. Remove the screws. Have someone hold the awning while you are doing this.
They are just bolted/screwed to the framing. Those are one piece so help would be needed.

Take them down and repaint them with pent-e-thane 2 part epoxy (the same stuff they use to paint jetliners) You will never have to finish them again.
Call a local Scraper and give them away for removal. I did that and it was a win-win.
If you are not going to reuse them make sure that you scrap them. They are made out of aluminum.
