Screened in porch always dirty.

I do not enjoy my porch xc a couple days a month. Any ideas? Would I be happy if I took the screening down, then being able to blow the dirt/pollen away often? Making a sunroom is not an option.

No screens means bugs! Just wait out the pollen storms! Then clean it. I don't want a sun room every!
  • I would try curtains or maybe sheers to let light in but maybe it would help keep pollen out. Shower curtains are waterproof and that may get you excited about using your porch more if it were more of a room instead of a porch?

Thanks for the ides. Keep them coming. May tr all of them at one time or another.
  • Look at a product called Eze-Breeze. These are an inexpensive way to cover screens and have a faux window to keep dirt out but still allow you to have full screens when you want to enjoy that nice breeze and sun on a good day. They will really keep down the dirt. Eze-Breeze®

@Organized Home Remodeling & Buckeye Custom Cabinets and Closets What is Eze-Breeze made of. I looked at the site, but I couldn't tell what material they use. I know it's probably a trade secret, so they're not going to give the info out free.

I just screened in my patio and did not realize how much pollen was blowing around this year except by allergies and pollen on the patio. I gave up clean it everyday... I do have sheers, but they are an open weave, and it does catch the pollen but now they need to be hosed down. A regular sheer would probably work better. Plastic would block the breeze and air flow... A friend had Eze-Breeze and that may be my next step down the road.

How did you put them up? I have a screened porch on 3 sides... dirt/dust/pollen is HORRIBLE. Would love blinds/curtains something up to keep it out, but not sure how to install on metal screened porch.

I have the same problem. I live in Arizona so dust storms are my problem and cannot hose off the screened in porch. I am going to remove my screens and open up patio so I can hose it down.
