How do I paint my front door?
I am a 66 year old widow and trying to do things myself!๐ My front door is in full sun a lot. I need advise on how to paint. It is tomato red and is faded bad in 5 years. While it is cool out I need to paint. Any advise step by step would be so helpful๐๐

Sand it, use a really good outdoor primer and a couple of coats of outdoor paint, glossy finish. You can
cover any hardware with painters tape. Be sure to let each coat dry really well before closing the door.
If your door is metal and in full sun, consider painting it a light color. The instructions that came with a metal door I purchased warned that painting the door a dark color would damage the door, unless it was shielded from the sun by a porch, etc.
Red tends to fade faster than any other color. I suggest choosing another color. I used Curb Appeal paint by DecoArt and have been really happy with the results.
