A larger shade would help. Maybe a drum style shade, those are everywhere now. Or a classic barrel shade. I love your walls!
Hello Pam. I agree. I would change out the shade.
I agree with Lisa, but update the color of marble with spray paint. Maybe black and gold? Don't worry any finish can be taken off later if you want to change it down the line.
I would simply change the lampshade to black pleated. I actually had the same lampshade on my lamp before I updated it. See picture of new lampshade.
that is a beautiful lamp base I would not do anything to it. Shade can be changed if you like.

The marble is awesome! (What a find that others would want!) I agree... drum shade to being it into this century! OR... since your home looks a bit rustic... use a shade with some lettering on it.
