How do I update/resurface my faux butcher block countertop?
I use mine as cases for jewelry and small collectable items. I use the top tray for bracelets, etc. that don't fit in the standard jewelry boxes and put the collectables in the bottom. I also keep any coin collections in their, too. I don't think your basic thief would think of a cosmetic suitcase being used like a safe for valuables.
Hang on the wall, (into at least one stud) clasp up, so you can store whatever. Like a drop-down cabinet. Samsonite stuff was usually sturdy, so I don’t believe you need to reinforce.
Needs be, use a 1” x 3”, painted, at the bottom of the case and pre-drill at least two holes to attach to wall.
You could leave it hanging open, using some screening to hang earrings, etc, on.
