Leather Couch Makeover!
I'd be leary of applying paint, afraid it would make it stiff or sticky . I woild think you could dye it to make darker but not lighter.
I would look into slipcovers. I don't think paint would hold up well.
I tried chalk painting a leather couch after reading several tutorials that said it worked just fine. It didn't. Even with putting on several thinned layers of paint it cracked and peeled where ever there was a wrinkle. On the smooth, straight, unwrinkled portions it looked great, but not on the places where you wanted it to be smooth and soft. I ended up putting it out by the road and someone adopted it.
