You can add light colors the surrounding area - such as paint or retile the backsplash white, add under the counter lighting, add more overhead lighting too.
They also make a paint specifically made to paint countertops. It’s an oil based paint so it has some pretty strong fumes until it’s dry, but it works quite well. All of the major home stores sell it, just ask someone in their paint department. Then you could make your countertops whatever color you’d like.
