How do I blend a counter with an added countertop?
Bought a house and previous owners added a lower cupboard and laminate countertop. It feels a little rough but it is even.

Maybe fill the crack and paint the whole thing?
There is a product called Seam-fil that you can color match to blend and smooth the seam.
You could recoat the entire countertop with epoxy to give it a whole new look and cover the seam. Check out this company. https://www.stonecoatcountertops.com/ultimate-epoxy-countertop-kit?gclid=Cj0KCQjw9tbzBRDVARIsAMBplx8O3mRCqBiXi_S2CYfvoTajLx_EPenCjmm1KSUGLtGo_VunYbysYnoaAsmMEALw_wcB
Yes do a countertop pour!! That would work best for that problem. We used ENVIROTEX resin when we did our countertops. Totally ok around food and they use it on bar tops. I painted my kitchen countertops with stone spray and made it look granite like. Then poured envirotex resin on top of it. You might want to make a frame for the sides of the countertop because the edges are tricky to get a smooth finish. But whatever you do, cover the lower cabinets with plastic because when it gets poured, it will drip down off the sides. Follow the directions on the box and you will love the result. For a few years after we did it, people thought it was granite. Good Luck! Then you use a blow torch to get all the bubbles out. Google tutorials. It's a great product and our countertops have held up for years now. People ask me if it was real granite. I think we used 5-6 boxes of envirotex for our countertops. Totalling around $300. hope this helps. It definitely has extended our old pink laminate countertops for another 5-6 years before we can afford real granite or quartz. Good Luck!
Seams can't be eliminated, but they can be hidden with a seam filler that matches the laminated surface's color. Use a seam filler and then use a counter top paint kit and give those counters a whole new look.
Home Depot has lots to choose from:

Blending the counter you can fill the seam with two part epoxy. Then paint the whole countertop. The pattern is so off no way to make it match.
Hello the whole countertop would need painting.

Painted Countertops: From Laminate To Granite
We painted our COUNTERTOPS!! The system we used is super durable, no chipping, and still looks brand new one year later.
If you are good at matching paint you could make it look better using a feather. Try to extend the browns and grays in both directions. Might as well try it.
Sounds like a perfect way to do it
Epoxy mix with tint will for sure add help you with that
Lots of great suggestions, I would just go with one that safe to use with food on a countertop.
The 2 countertops do not match up in the patterns of each, so a blend is not the way to do this. A 2 part epoxy to smooth it out and then paint.
Hi Donna, first fill the seam with a color that is similar to the lighter color, then you could try to find a paint that is similar to the deeper color and paint it on to make the patterns flow onto each piece at the seam, once you do, you can use a sealer to waterproof your counter. This should at least give the seam a less blatant look.
I would fill the seam and then use countertop paint to paint the whole thing.
You could decide to use Tiles or Large Floor Tile to cover the new cabinet area as it would be useful to be able to take the pots from stove to rest. You coud also use stainless steel or a Worktop saver to sit over the join. Hope that helps!
